European PVC contract negotiations saw slow progress in August as many participants remained absent from the market this week. Although producers continued to seek the Eur70/mt ethylene cost [if not the ethylene cost +10, +20, +30], converters said that due to current demand and activity levels it would not be possible to accept more than a Eur50-60/mt increase in August, which would leave producers with a negative margin, according to sources.
