Asian acrylonitrile prices slipped this week on weaker sentiment and a fall in China domestic prices. The CFR Far East Asia and CFR Southeast Asia markers were both assessed Tuesday at $2,000/mt, down $15/mt week on week, while the CFR South Asia marker was assessed at $2,010/mt, down $30/mt over the same period. Domestic trades in China were at Yuan 14,200-14,400/mt Tuesday, or $1,879-1,906/mt on an import parity basis, down Yuan 300/mt from a week earlier. There were no discussions this week after participants attended a conference late last week, and sentiment was weakening as they were not confident prices would improve in the near term. “The situation is a deadlock,” a trader said.
