Butadiene prices were higher Friday week on week on concerns of tighter supply brought on by upstream turnarounds against growing downstream production. Prices were also supported by buying for the Chinese and US markets. Last week, Thailand's Bangkok Synthetics sold a 2,000 mt butadiene cargo for loading early April at about $3,420/mt FOB Map Ta Phut. Market sources said the cargo was split into two lots, of which one was sold to a Chinese end-user for $3,600/mt CFR.
