Asian acrylonitrile prices climbed this week amid a lack of available cargoes in the market, with the increase capped by weak demand. The CFR Far East Asia and CFR South Asia markers were assessed Tuesday at $1,965/mt and $1,895/mt, respectively, up $15/mt and $10/mt week on week, while the CFR Southeast Asia marker remained unchanged over the same period at $1,990/mt. China domestic prices were up $13-40/mt from a week earlier at Yuan 14,500-14,800/mt, or $1,898-1,937/mt on an import parity basis. A September cargo was traded late last week at $1,980/mt CFR China, with offers this week at $2,000/mt CFR China.
