The Northwest European polystyrene prices recorded week-on-week losses of Eur15/mt despite a slight improvement in demand on a strong push-back from buyers. Demand in the packaging, insulation and household appliances sector rose, although market sources said sentiment was characterized by caution due to high fixed prices. "PS prices are not at an all-time high, but we are not far from that, and everyone is very cautious; [it's] hand-to-mouth buying," said a source. Producers were aiming to achieve a rollover in April, but so far, transactions had settled in a Eur10-20/mt decrease for GPPS.
