There were also deals into Latin America of Asian cargoes at 76 cents/lb delivered at the end of April or early May. Material from NE and SE Asia was offered competitively into the Americas as Asian demand was faltering amid expectations of lower prices ahead. US buyers also see costs falling and anticipate lower bottle resin prices in April. Costs were up an estimated 1.75 cents/lb in March, and PET contract prices were expected to go up to cover the additional costs.
