The US paraxylene assessment jumped $80/mt over the week to $1,495/mt FOB USG Friday amid a higher energy complex and higher feedstock mixed xylene spot levels. The day on day change was an increase of $40/mt as an offer for 5,000 mt of paraxylene for September was heard at $1,650/mt FOB HTC against no firm bids. Two cargoes at 10,000 mt and 4,000 mt of PX were heard shipped from Houston to Mexico over the week. The PX assessment started the week rising $20/mt to $1,435/mt FOB USG Monday tracking upward movements in European and Asian PX.
