The weakness in the energy complex weighed on buying sentiment in the European polypropylene market this week as many consumers retreated to the sidelines to observe tumbling crude cost. In turn, the drop in crude dragged feedstock naphtha, which fell to $944.25/mt on Monday, the lowest in more than a month, Platts data showed. Naphtha hit $1,002.75 on Sept. 14 and has since lost steam following the $3-4/b daily drop in crude. ICE November Brent fell $3, to $109.03/b Wednesday, partly in the wake of the release of weekly US government data, which showed a build in US crude stocks.
