EDC: US ethylene dichloride export trading activity was mute as there was a wide spread between bids and offers. Buyers need cargoes at the Asia netback of about $200/mt FOB while sellers talked the market over $300/mt due to the high price of ethylene. The price was assessed at either side of $245/mt FOB USG, $5/mt higher from a week ago. Even when there is demand for EDC in the export market, sources said that US producers are not willing to move material when the ethylene prices is high and the freight cost is expensive.
