US spot propylene strengthened across the board week on week Friday, with polymer-grade propylene leading the way with a 4.75-cent/lb gain after trading Friday at 78.25 cents/lb MtB pipe and subsequently assessed at 78-78.50 cents/lb. Spot PGP was seen gaining strength throughout the week despite weak demand from the polypropylene market, which sources said was long on product after steep increases in February and March scared away buyers.
