The Asian polyethylene terephthalate rose $10/mt week on week to be assessed at $1,361/mt FOB Northeast Asia and $1,393/mt FOB Southeast Asia Wednesday. Asian PET producers raised their offers this week in tandem with firming feedstock values. Offers on an FOB Northeast Asia basis were raised $10/mt from the previous week to $1,390/mt, while those on an FOB Southeast Asia basis were increased $20/mt to $1,420/mt. Feedstock purified terephthalic acid prices surged $27/mt week on week to be assessed at $1,086/mt CFR China Wednesday, while monoethylene glycol spiked $45/mt over the same period to $1,111/mt CFR China.
