The spot propylene market in Europe was widely described as balanced this week, with trading activity seen to be low. Turnarounds, cutbacks and production issues impacting both steam crackers and downstream plants have brought some stability to the market, many sources said, adding that uncertainty over how the October market would develop had also dampened interest for spot business. Most producers had retreated from the market and were instead focusing on their contractual commitments.
