US spot ethylene lost 2.25 cents/lb week over week, assessed Friday at 57.50-58 cents/lb FD USG on a 3-to 30-day basis. Spot ethylene fell throughout the week before rebounding on Friday. The week started with limited trading activity, falling 0.75 cents/lb on both Monday and Tuesday. Trading activity picked heated up later in the week, with the market shedding 2 cents/lb on both Wednesday and Thursday. Market sources attributed downward pressure on prices as a correction to prehurricane Isaac levels.
