Increased feedstock propylene cost continued to bolster polypropylene prices in April, while demand was seen generally easing following robust buying in Q1. Most producers were heard firm on passing-through the propylene price increase of Eur50/mt in their April contracts. However, those who initially pushed for as much as plus Eur80/mt softened on their targets. A producer, who initially targeted plus Eur75-80/mt, claimed he had so far secured an increase of Eur50-70/mt in his April contract price, bringing his gross prices to the Eur1,570/mt-range, and said: "We got plus Eur50/mt on the larger accounts," adding that the Eur70/mt hike was possible in the specialized grades.
