Northwest European polystyrene prices climbed Eur40/mt to close at Eur1,425/mt FD NWE for general purpose grade product. Gains were rooted in growing appetites, inventory building and fuelled further by rising costs. The bulk of contracts settled at around a Eur120/mt increase as producers had sold most of their August volumes. Sources underscored that anemic inventories remained the key driver.
