Spot polymer grade propylene prices in Northwest Europe headed higher this week on the back of firmer feedstock cost. Naphtha has averaged at $893.75/mt CIF NWE so far in August, up from an average of $825/mt in July; it closed at $932/mt Friday, up from $887.75/mt the past week, according to Platts data. Meanwhile, supply length has been curbed, according to many sources, who added that producers who had previously struggled with excess volumes had managed to unload and clear their system of surplus products.
