US paraxylene was assessed $35/mt higher over the week to $1,415/mt FOB USG amid increased activity over the week as demand strengthened. The day on day change was a rise/fall of $25/mt on similar movements in Asia and as product was heard headed to Europe. Two 10,000 mt cargoes were heard sent off to Indonesia in September and to South Korea in August, though prices were not disclosed. US supply was still heard substantial at present. On the week beginning Tuesday, as Platts did not assess US markets Monday due to the Labor Day holiday, PX rose $5/mt to $1,390/mt FOB USG.
