Contract prices in the European high density polyethylene market posted an increase for April despite spot prices extending its fall. Producers were desperate to increase contract prices in what some saw as a "last chance for an increase in some time." In the injection market, a producer reported gross prices at Eur1,540/mt FD NWE, which was corroborated from converters, who were willing to concede a marginal increase. HDPE injection contract prices were assessed at Eur1,540-1,545/mt FD NWE. In the blowmolding market, a producer reported the contract price at Eur1,565/mt FD NWE; converter ideas were at Eur1,545/mt FD NWE. Prices were assessed Eur25/mt higher on the month to Eur1,560-1,565/mt FD NWE. "Demand from consumer goods, such as milk bottles and industrial containers, is stable," one producer reported.
