EDC: EDC values in the US were assessed slightly higher this week as derivative demand remained strong. The assessment was $5 higher at $150-160/mt FOB USG. Spot activity was thin this week as arb opportunities to Asia were shut, with bids in Far East Asia seen at $200-220/mt on a CFR basis. Additionally, continued strength in the downstream PVC market made EDC more profitable as an intermediate product. Spot PVC prices were assessed at $875/mt FAS Houston this week on the back of tight supply amid reduced production rates.
