US ethanol blending hits high, breaks 10% blend wall

Houston—Ethanol’s share in gasoline over a fourweek period reached an all-time high of 10.06% in the week ended October 14, Energy Information Administration data showed Wednesday. “These EIA figures show once again that the oil industry’s false blend wall narrative is not rooted in reality,” Bob Dinneen, president of biofuels industry group the Renewable Fuels Association, said in a statement. “This clearly shows that there’s no reason for the administration to roll back the 2017 Renewable Fuel Standard’s conventional biofuel blending levels required by the statute.”
