Copenhagen-Norway faces a strike by its offshore oil and gas rig workers within days if last-ditch arbitration talks, which kicked off Monday, fail to hit compromise between unions and employers over wages and conditions. The unions involved, Industri Energi and SAFE and a smaller union, have previously said Norwegian oil and gas production could be hit if a strike was called and it lasted for long. The chief of the SAFE union, Hilde-Marit Rysst declined to comment to S&P Global Platts Monday on the progress of the talks, but indicated the two sides were far apart.
