MEG Energy completes oil sands plant turnaround

Calgary-Canada’s MEG Energy completed a major turnaround of its oil sands facility in Alberta on April 17, with the company remaining on track to exit the current year with an output of 80,000 b/d to 83,000 b/d at a reduced net operating cost, CEO Bill McCaffrey said last week. “The turnaround of Christina Lake phase 2B has been completed and we also saw strong production rates in January and February,” he said on an earnings call.
