Lenders to get tougher on US E&Ps after bank redeterminations

Houston-As US oil producers head into the first of two yearly rounds of bank redeterminations, financial experts say lenders will not only get much tougher this time around, but that expected cuts in upstream borrowing capacity from a year of low oil prices may continue to limit near-term drilling even in a rising price environment. The redeterminations, which dictate how much money operators can borrow to produce oil and gas, could fall by up to 40% on average during the April-May round, experts say.
