High USAC gasoline imports poised to fall

New York-US Atlantic Coast gasoline imports jumped 201,000 b/d to 625,000 b/d last week, but may taper off on increased local supplies as refiners return from maintenance, an analysis of US Energy Information Administration data showed. Gasoline imports into the USAC the week ending April 1 were well above the year-todate average of 509,000 b/d and 2015 average of 564,000 b/d. The USAC is structurally short gasoline and relies heavily on Canadian and European imports to meet demand. It also receives about 300,000 b/d of gasoline from the US Gulf Coast via the Colonial pipeline.
