US retail gasoline price to be down 23% this summer: EIA

Washington-Lower crude prices and narrower refining margins this summer will push the average US retail gasoline price down 23% from summer 2015 levels, the Energy Information Administration said Tuesday. Regular gasoline will average $2.04/gal at the pump over the 2016 summer season, which EIA defines as April through September, it said in its Summer Fuels Outlook. Regular gasoline averaged $2.63/gal in the 2015 summer season, EIA said.
