Encana lowers costs for Canadian, US operations

Encana has been successful in reducing year-on-year well drilling and completion costs by as much as 44% at its four core North American assets in first quarter, helping it to track targeted cost savings of C$550 million ($432 million) in the current year, CEO Doug Suttles said. Terming the assets-Eagle Ford and Permian in the US and Montney and Duvernay in Canada-as being "one of the most competitive" for investments in North America, Suttles said on an earnings webcast Tuesday.
