Total to more than double output from Nigeria’s Ofon field

Lagos-France’s Total will begin drilling new well head platforms in its Ofon oil field offshore Nigeria in Q4 2016 in a bid to increase output to 65,000 b/d from current 25,000 b/d levels, a company spokesman said Thursday. The drilling campaign would come under the second phase of the expansion program for the field, which has estimated reserves of 350 million barrels, costing the company $1.5 billion.
