Refining margins at India's MRPL rise 51%

India's state-run Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Ltd. Monday posted a 51.2% year-on-year rise in gross refining margin for the April-June quarter at $10.01/b, on higher crack spread for petroleum products. MRPL's crude throughput at its 15 million mt/year Mangalore refinery fell 5.9% year on year to 3.7 million mt during the period. The throughput was lower as drought curtailed water supply for three to four weeks during the period, hitting refining operations, company officials said.
