Shell seeks resolution as North Sea strike looms

Shell said Monday it hoped that UK North Sea workers’ unions would be able to resolve a dispute with service contractor Wood Group and avoid threatened strike action. Both the RMT and Unite trade unions are due to announce Wednesday the results of ballots on the possibility of workers on eight Shell platforms taking strike action. About 200 offshore workers have been balloted.
