Kurdish data shines light on Iraqi output tiff

London—The Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) released its latest monthly oil production figures Wednesday which appeared to provide growing evidence that a spat between Iraq and OPEC over the country’s current oil production levels is the result of double counting. Production figures from the federal government of Iraq and the semi-autonomous KRG both include oil production from the disputed Bai Hassan and Avana Dome fields, leading to total Iraqi oil output being overestimated, the Kurdish data shows.
