ConocoPhillips’ Q2 Alaska output nudges higher

Anchorage-ConocoPhillips’ second-quarter 2016 output in Alaska rose to 179,000 barrels of oil equivalent a day from 174,000 boe/d in the year-ago period. But the company’s Alaskan operations are still running in the red. “We are not generating positive cash flow here,” Natalie Lowman, a ConocoPhillips spokeswoman, said in a statement. The growth in production, even as output from older fields declined, came from continued strong production from two new drill sites, CD-5 near the Alpine field and Drill Site 2-S in the Kuparuk River field, Lowman said.
