Moscow-Despite indications that Russia is mulling cooperating with OPEC on a production cut to boost prices, a number of factors mean that such a scenario remains unlikely, at least for now. Among them are harsh weather and the complicated geology of Russian fields, not to mention the leap of faith required to trust other potential participants to stick to their word and cut output too. At the same time, if there were to be a deal it would boost oil prices and ease the strain on the Russian budget.
