Shell to quadruple Brazilian output by 2020

Shell expects the addition of BG Group's Brazilian assets will boost the company's crude and natural gas production in Latin America's largest country fourfold by end-2020, CEO Ben van Beurden said Monday. Speaking to reporters in Rio de Janeiro on the day Shell completed its acquisition of BG, Van Beurden said that "the two companies together should quadruple production by the end of this decade" to 550,000 b/d of oil equivalent from about 130,000 boe/d at end-2014.
