Cairn India’s Q4 hydrocarbon production down 9%

Cairn India, a unit of London-listed minerals and metals group Vedanta Resources, said Monday average gross hydrocarbon production for the fourth quarter was down 9% on year at 197,039 b/d of oil equivalent, mainly due to a steep fall in production from its eastern offshore block. Gross production from Cairns flagship Rajasthan blocks in the January-to-March quarter fell 4% year on year to 167,650 boe/d for the three main producing fields in the block, due to underperformance at the Bhagyam reservoir.
