Nigeria’s Forcados oil pipeline bombed again

Lagos—An oil pipeline operated by stateowned Nigerian Petroleum Development Co. was bombed Tuesday in the western division of the Niger Delta, security sources said. It was the second attack in less than a week on pipelines feeding into the Forcados export crude line. Nigeria’s hopes of ramping up oil production back to pre-January 2016 levels of 2.2 million b/d hang in balance as militants put forward further demands and one group backed out of peace talks over the weekend, following a meeting between the country’s president and Niger Delta leaders.
