Japan’s JX to cut crude runs, lift product exports

Tokyo-Japan’s largest refiner, JX Nippon Oil & Energy, plans to process 4.76 million kiloliters (965,789 b/d) of crude oil in August for the domestic market, down 11% from a year ago, a company official said Friday. The JX official attributed the reduced crude throughput to ongoing unspecified refinery problems, declining to elaborate. But the official added that the refiner would procure spot gasoline in the domestic spot market if necessary in August.
