Husky to add heavy oil capacity by end of 2016

Calgary-Husky Energy remains on track to add 55,000 b/d to 60,000 b/d of thermal heavy oil production capacity in Western Canada by the end of 2016 with operating costs of C$8/b ($6.20/b), Chief Financial Officer Jon McKenzie said. The new capacity will breakeven at a WTI price of $30/b and also generate a rate of return of over 10% annually, he said in a webcast presentation Wednesday from the JP Morgan Energy Equity Conference in New York.
