Norwegian oil strike averted after last minute negotiations

Pay talks between the Norwegian energy workers' union SAFE and employers' body the Norwegian Oil and Gas Association were concluded early Friday, averting the threat of a strike that would have taken out two production sites and a refinery. The strike would have affected Statoil's Hammerfest LNG facility, the Nyhamna gas hub as well as ExxonMobil's Slagen oil refinery, the union said.
