Bayou Bridge pipe likely to lower LLS premium

Houston-The new Bayou Bridge oil pipeline, due online by the end of March, will likely bring down the cost of Light Louisiana Sweet crude for Louisiana refiners by increasing the availability of alternatives from West Texas and eventually North Dakota. The Bayou Bridge pipeline, a joint venture between Phillips 66, Sunoco Logistics and Energy Transfer Partners, can carry crude from Nederland, Texas, to Lake Charles, Louisiana. An extension later this year will move the batched pipeline’s terminus to Saint James. Phillips 66 has refineries in both locations: the 260,000 b/d at Lake Charles plant and 247,000 b/d at Belle Chasse plant, near St. James.
