Cairn India hopes for early decision on Rajasthan block

Mumbai-Cairn India hopes for an early decision on the extension of its Rajasthan block license and a fair price for the crude produced from it, CEO Mayank Ashar said in response to an array of policy measures in the hydrocarbons sector announced by the government on March 10. Ashar told the ‘Advancing Asia Conference’ this week an early resolution of both issues would also help India take a step closer to energy security. Cairn India approached the Delhi High Court in December seeking legal direction on an early decision on the extension of Rajasthan block by 10 years and permission to export Rajasthan crude.
