Ineos to buy North Sea gas fields from LetterOne

London—Swiss-based petrochemical group Ineos has agreed to buy a package of UK North Sea gas fields assets from a subsidiary of LetterOne, the investment vehicle led by Russian billionaire Mikhail Fridman. The UK government earlier this year forced LetterOne to sell some field assets held by Dea UK in the North Sea following the acquisition of German utility RWE’s exploration unit Dea.
