Argentina boosts oil services to curb imports

Buenos Aires—A program for developing the oil services industry has boosted Argentina’s domestic supply of goods and services to replace $160 million in the equivalent in imports, Industry Minister Debora Giorgi said. “Our challenge is to help companies achieve quality in the production of goods and services,” she said in a statement late Wednesday. The government launched the program in 2012 in partnership with YPF, the country’s biggest oil company that came under state control that year.
