Dubai—Genel Energy has received a payment of $30 million from the Kurdistan Regional Government for its oil exports under the first round of payments to international oil companies. The payments mark the first tranche of regular payments to the international oil companies for export via a pipeline to Turkey. and comes as a welcome relief to operators who were threatening to pull investment from Kurdistan due to the delayed revenues. The KRG has also made a payment of $15 million to Gulf Keystone Petroleum.
