Kosmos to boost capex in 2015, focus on Ghana

London-African-focused explorer Kosmos Energy plans to boost is capital spending to around $800 million this year, up from the $528 million spent in 2014, as development work offshore Ghana gains pace. The Dallas-based company said some $500 million of this year’s budget will be spent developing the Tullow Oil-operated Jubi- lee field, already in production, and TEN proj- ects, which is scheduled to come on stream in 2016. The company said it will devote $300 million to exploration spending this year and expects to participate in the drilling of four offshore exploration wells.
