Calgary-The onshore shale oil-in-place resources in Canada’s Northwest Territories could be as high as 191 billion barrels, with 3%, or 5.73 billion barrels, being likely recov- erable, according to a new survey. The National Energy Borad, along with the Northwest Territories Geological Survey, released the first assessment of unconven- tional petroleum resources in the NWT, with the focus on the Bluefish and Canol shale plays in the Central Mackenzie Plain.
