London-The head of Russia’s state-con- trolled oil giant Rosneft said Tuesday the world could see a shortage of crude by the fourth quarter of this year as the US shale boom would prove to have weak foundations. US shale production at current levels could lead to fast reserve depletion and the under-capitalized companies spearheading the boom could find themselves driven to the wall, Rosneft CEO Igor Sechin said Tuesday.
