Washington—The US crude surplus continued to shrink last week, as a 4.94-million-barrel stock draw left US inventories at 462.99 million barrels, 70% of shell capacity and 86% of working capacity, data from the US Energy Information Administration showed Wednesday. That was down from 78% of shell capacity and 94% of working capacity the week ending April 24, when crude stocks peaked at 490.91 million barrels, about 28 million barrels above last week’s level.
