Canada smooths way for LNG export terminal

Calgary-A 3 million-3.5 million mt/year marine LNG export terminal proposed for British Columbia should see a faster regulatory application process, after the Canadian federal government agreed to let the province handle the environmental review. The Canadian Environmental Assessment Agency accepted a request from its counterpart in British Columbia to allow the province to undertake the environmental assessment for the WesPac terminal at Tilbury on Canada’s Pacific Coast, in place of a federal process, agency spokeswoman Karen Fish said Tuesday via email. The decision was approved by the country’s environment minister, Leona Aglukkaq.
