US crude storage and capacity tracker

Houston—Total US crude stocks soared in the week ended October 9, spurred on by the continuing decline in refinery utilization and led by builds in the Gulf Coast and Midwest, according to data from the Energy Information Administration Thursday. USGC crude stocks rose for the fourth consecutive week, reaching the second-highest level since the EIA began recording the data in 1990. Inventories there climbed 2.39 million barrels to 242.97 million barrels, further approaching the 243.86 million barrel record set in April.
