Lagos-Industrial action by Nigerian oil work- ers’ protesting the transfer of the operator- ship of an onshore oil block sold by Shell has shut in about 100,000 b/d of output from state-owned Nigerian Petroleum Development Co, sources said Tuesday. The strike began Tuesday at NPDC branch- es of the white collar Pengassan and its blue-collar counterpart Nupeng to protest the transfer of ownership of the prolific OML 42 block to indigenous group Neconde Energy, union and company sources said.
